Best Of Yik Yak: THON 2015 Edition

During THON weekend, all forms of social media are taken over by posts of “FTK” and “We stand for 46!” Once you’re done sifting through the infinite THON pictures on Facebook, you can expect the same flooding on Instagram, Twitter, and Snapchat.

Yik Yak was no exception, maintaining a THON-centric theme for several days on end. From heartwarming stories to real talk about the BJC, here’s a look at the best yaks of THON 2015.

Pre-THON Musings

Wait, remember that time one of these yaks inquired about Left Shark, and our I-Spy list included it, and then Left Shark actually appeared at the THON Pep Rally? Yeah, me too.

All The Feels

You didn’t have to wait for Family Hour to get all the THON feels — Yik Yak kept us pretty covered.

The Weather Was Not On Our Side

It was not the warmest of THONs, and the sass about the cold temperatures was very real.

The Non-THONers

Yik Yak saw its fair share of those who don’t THON, either supporting their fellow students, or totally taking advantage of an empty downtown State College.

Same

From parodying the line dance break, to dreaming of a THON Snapchat — these yaks covered what we were all thinking.

THON Real Talk

Of course, for as wonderful as THON is, various criticisms of the weekend will always arise, on both sides of the argument.

State Patty’s Next Weekend Though…

Last weekend, Devon Werkheiser (AKA Ned Bigby) said it best: “You’re not out partying. I mean, you are out partying. But you’re not out partying. You’re here doing this for the kids.”

This weekend will be a different story.

The Post-THON Strugglebus

Monday morning, everyone was either still fast asleep, or taking to Yik Yak in an effort to become a human once again.
