West Coast, best coast?

Penn State football heads to Seattle to disprove that notion against the 5-3 Washington Huskies at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday. The Nittany Lions are coming off their first Big Ten win of the Matt Campbell era, defeating Purdue 31-17 on Halloween.

Here’s everything you need to know ahead of the matchup.

Injuries

Since Purdue is a Big Ten opponent, Penn State’s injury availability report is available ahead of kickoff.

Receiver Koby Howard could make his return to the field after missing the last five games due to an injury suffered in Week 3 against Buffalo. The sophomore is listed as questionable heading into the weekend.

Fellow wideout Chase Sowell is listed as probable after missing last week’s game against Purdue, along with offensive lineman Malachi Goodman and defensive tackle Armstrong Nnodim.

Players missing the Nittany Lions’ first trip to the West Coast in 2026 include defensive lineman Alijah Carnell, linebacker Alex Tatsch, cornerback Tyler Armstead, and kicker Cristiano Rosa.

Series History

Penn State has never lost to Washington, holding a 4-0 all-time series record.

The two squads first clashed in 1921, when the Nittany Lions won 21-7 in Seattle.

The blue and white most recently beat the Huskies 35-6 in the 2024 White Out, after Drew Allar completed 20 of 28 passes for 220 yards and a touchdown. Penn State ran for 266 yards and scored on touchdowns from running back Kaytron Allen, quarterback Beau Pribula, and tight end Tyler Warren twice.

Penn State has beaten Washington in the Aloha Bowl (1983) and the Fiesta Bowl (2017).

The Nittany Lions have outscored Washington 104-51 across all four matchups.
