Man Assaulted On West College Ave. Early Sunday Morning

A 21-year-old man was assaulted on West College Ave. between South Atherton St. and South Patterson St. around 2:30 a.m. Sunday morning, according to a press release from the State College Police Department.

He was found lying in the grass on the 500 block of West College Ave. with injuries to his face and head. The victim was later treated at UPMC Altoona and released from the hospital.

“A witness heard a commotion behind him and when he turned around he saw a group of males fleeing from the area of the victim,” the press release says.

Police ask anyone with additional information about this incident to contact the State College Police Department at 814-234-7150. You can also submit tips via email or anonymously through the police department’s website here.
