Champs Downtown Playing THON Live Stream, Planning After Party

Who says you can’t be #FTK and drink a Dirty Sprite at the same time? For one weekend and one weekend only, you can do just that.

“In the current politically divisive climate, THON is a breathe of fresh air,” Champs Manager Dante Lucchesi said. “It is a unifying institution that everyone can get behind.”

Champs is playing the THON live stream on a bunch of the TVs throughout the bar in addition to its normal sports programming, and is also planning a no-cover THON afterparty for Sunday.

“Our afterparty is a celebration of accomplishment and appreciation for the students that make THON happen. We have My Hero Zero booked and fun Pedialyte cocktails to keep everyone going a few more hours.”

The livestream could be especially useful when the Bryce Jordan Center inevitably hits capacity this weekend, or for folks who don’t want to deal with the utter chaos that is THON 2018 but still want to support the cause or keep updated with what’s going on.

“We tried to donate to THON last year, but unfortunately we are prohibited from doing such because they have a policy of not accepting donations from establishments that serve alcohol,” he continued. “This year we chose to stream the event all weekend and throw a free (no cover) party for the students on Sunday immediately following the event.”
