Movin’ On 2019 Delayed Due To Weather
Update 4:10 p.m.: Movin’ On just announced that gates open at 4:30 p.m. and the show will begin at 4:45 p.m.
Update 4:05 p.m.: Movin’ On will begin at 4:30 p.m., according to Penn State Police and Public Safety.
Original story: Movin’ On has been delayed indefinitely due to weather.
Penn State’s annual end-of-year music festival was slated to begin at 4 p.m. Friday with gates opening at 3:30 p.m. The organization tweeted shortly after 2 p.m. that updates will come “soon” and advised students to stay off the IM Fields.
Movin’ On also tweeted an update Thursday night that the event would be held rain or shine — but the event cannot be held in case of extreme weather (lightning concerns). If the weather is too bad for the festival to be held, it will be canceled outright, as the organization doesn’t have a back-up location or contingency plans.
Last year, the festival ended early due to lightning, canceling the performance of headliner Logic.
Bryce Vine, Snakehips, A$AP Ferg, and Grouplove are scheduled to perform at this year’s festival.
There is currently a light rain in State College, and AccuWeather projects it to continue for at least another 20 minutes and to resume around 4:15 p.m. Campus Weather Service said thunderstorms and 40 mile-per-hour winds are on their way into Centre County and could intensify throughout the afternoon.
We’ll update this post as more information becomes available.
