Penn State Football Newcomers Receive Jersey Numbers

With spring ball and the 2022 Blue-White game quickly approaching, some of Penn State football’s newest Nittany Lions received their jersey numbers on Sunday.

Ten newly added players received their official numbers, which included transfer additions and early enrollees. Most notably, five-star quarterback and early enrollee Drew Allar will don No. 15, numerically following returning starter No. 14 Sean Clifford.

Three-star quarterback Beau Pribula shares No. 9 with current quarterback Christian Veilleux and cornerback Joey Porter Jr. Veilleux wore No. 9 last year, and although he’s still listed with it on the team’s official roster, a number change could be in the works soon to avoid too many No. 9s.

Wide receiver Mitchell Tinsley will don No. 5, the same number he wore while playing for Western Kentucky before transferring to Penn State. Tight end Jerry Cross will suit up in No. 88.

Running back Nicholas Singleton will wear No. 10, which he wore while in high school. Fellow running back Kaytron Allen will also don his high school number, No. 13.

Here’s a full list of numbers for all of Penn State football’s newest players:

  • No. 5: Mitchell Tinsley (Wide receiver)
  • No. 7: Kaden Saunders (Wide receiver)
  • No. 9: Beau Pribula (Quarterback)
  • No. 10: Nicholas Singleton (Running back)
  • No. 13: Kaytron Allen (Running back)
  • No. 15: Drew Allar (Quarterback)
  • No. 18: Omari Evans (Wide receiver)
  • No. 28: Zane Durant (Defensive tackle)
  • No. 55: JB Nelson (Offensive line)
  • No. 88: Jerry Cross (Tight end)
