Penn State’s Spring 2023 Commencement Weekend Weather Forecast

It’s finally that time of year again, folks.

As graduates prepare for their new beginnings, Happy Valley will send them off with sunny weather conditions throughout the weekend.

All graduation ceremonies will be held at indoor locations, so in the slim chance that it rains, there’s no need to fret.

To prepare for the exciting weekend ahead, let’s take a look at the latest forecasts for graduation.

Friday, May 5

According to AccuWeather, Friday’s temperature should max out at a high of 61 degrees. Expect a mostly cloudy day with a 25% chance of precipitation and wind gusts at 8 mph.

Saturday, May 6

On Saturday, the weather will feel slightly warmer with a high of 69 degrees and sunny to partly cloudy conditions. With a 0% chance of precipitation, Saturday will be the perfect day to venture off and take pictures around campus.

Because Saturday is a busy day filled with various ceremonies, make sure to dress appropriately when traveling to Pegula Ice Arena, the Bryce Jordan Center, or Eisenhower Auditorium.

Sunday, May 7

To close out the celebratory weekend, Sunday should be partly sunny with a temperature of 75 degrees, and you can expect the warmest conditions of the weekend. There will be wind gusts up to 7 mph and a 15% chance of precipitation.

Sunday wraps up the last of the commencement ceremonies, so graduates can enjoy their final moments in a rather sunny Happy Valley.
