[Photo Story] Sylly Week Through Our Lens

Another semester means another Sylly Week. Between introductory pep rallies, the Involvement Fair, Penn State sports back in action, and so much more, there was no shortage of excitement on campus this week.

With many awesome moments and events to capture this Sylly Week, we compiled some of our favorite angles. Let’s jump in.

The first day of classes had everyone in their feels. Whether folks were reuniting with friends or trying to find their classes, everyone was out and about.

The Lion Ambassadors’ Be a Part from the Start pep rally got the Class of 2027 fired up and ready for Penn State Athletics. Who’s excited to bring that energy to Beaver Stadium in less than two weeks?

Speaking of athletics, football practices are in full swing. James Franklin and Co. are prepping for another great season in Happy Valley.

Sylly Week wouldn’t be complete without more dominance from Penn State women’s soccer. The crew kicked off the week with a triumphant 8-0 victory over West Chester at Jeffrey Field highlighted by eight goals from six Nittany Lions.

This year’s Involvement Fair was a little rainy, but hundreds of clubs braved the weather to recruit new members to their organizations Wednesday.

As summer slips away, so will the beloved State College Spikes. The summer-league team hosted its final “Dollar Dog Night” of the season, drawing huge crowds and quite a few hot dog orders.

The Spikes’ and soon-to-be Beaver Stadium PA announcer Joe Putnam was spirited and dressed for the occasion on the final night of $1 glizzies at Medlar Field at Lubrano Park.

As always, Old Main showed up for Sylly Week to welcome 40,000 Penn Staters back to campus for the 2023-24 school year.
