Penn State Men’s Hockey Ranked No. 16 In USCHO Preseason Poll

Penn State men’s hockey team has checked in at No. 16 in the USCHO preseason poll, the organization announced Monday.

While the Nittany Lions finished last season with a 22-16-1 record, many of the teams leading contributors have since departed. Penn State finished last season ranked No. 8 in the poll after making the NCAA Tournament before falling to Michigan in the Regional Final. That Penn State team began the season unranked.

The Nittany Lions will face five teams ranked in the top 20 this season. Those opponents are No. 3 Minnesota, No. 5 Michigan, No. 9 Michigan State, No. 13 Ohio State, and No. 20 Notre Dame, each of those teams playing in the Big Ten for men’s hockey.

The team will open the season Saturday, October 7, at LIU.
