Penn State Football Remains No. 6 In AP Poll

Another week at No. 6.

Penn State football was ranked No. 6 in the latest AP Poll, the Associated Press announced Sunday. The Nittany Lions remain at No. 6 after jumping from No. 7 in week five.

Penn State’s ranking comes after the bye week, and the program didn’t see the benefit of some shakeups in the AP Top 25. Then-No. 3 Texas fell to then-No. 12 Oklahoma in the Red River Showdown Saturday, which allowed the Sooners to jump to No. 5.

Georgia, Michigan, Ohio State, Florida State, and Oklahoma now round out the top five seats in the poll, while Penn State, Washington, Oregon, Texas, and USC fill out the top 10.

Meanwhile, Penn State earned the No. 5 spot in the USA Today Coaches Poll Sunday.

The Nittany Lions return to action in just under a week, as they face UMass at home at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, October 14. The game will air on the Big Ten Network.
