Penn State Football Linebacker Curtis Jacobs Declares For NFL Draft, Will Play In Peach Bowl
Penn State football linebacker Curtis Jacobs has declared for the NFL Draft, he announced Friday. Jacobs also said he will play in Penn State’s Peach Bowl bout with Ole Miss on December 30.
Jacobs is the third Nittany Lion to declare for the NFL Draft, after Chop Robinson and Theo Johnson did so earlier in December.
“Thank you to my Penn State family, coaches, players, and fans,” Jacobs wrote in a post. “My time here has been very special and I will never forget it. I have everything I had on the field for my brothers and I have made relationships that will last a lifetime.”
Jacob’s declaration comes at the end of his fourth year at Penn State. Jacobs committed to the Nittany Lions as a four-star linebacker in the recruiting Class of 2020 and immediately made an impact on the field. As a true freshman, Jacobs appeared in eight games and made nine tackles along with a pass breakup.
In 2021, Jacobs started in 11 games for Penn State. He made 61 tackles, including three sacks, and an interception against Illinois. The following season, Jacobs’ 12 starts with 52 tackles, three sacks, and a forced fumble earned him an All-Big Ten honorable mention by coaches and media.
While there were questions about if Jacobs would play for Penn State in 2023, he announced his return to the program after the Rose Bowl. In his final season for the Nittany Lions, Jacobs recorded 47 tackles, eight tackles for loss, and two fumble recoveries.
Jacobs said Friday morning that he would be playing in the Peach Bowl, but only hinted toward his future in the NFL. Only Robinson has announced his intentions to forgo the Peach Bowl, while most other players are expected to participate in the Nittany Lions’ final game of the season.
