Penn State Women’s Volleyball Rises To No. 3 In AVCA Poll
Penn State women’s volleyball was ranked No. 3 in the most recent AVCA Poll, the organization announced Monday afternoon. The Nittany Lions, who earned six first-place votes, were No. 7 in last week’s rankings.
The ranking was the highest in the Katie Schumacher-Cawley era, which is currently in its third year. The Nittany Lions have opened the season with a 5-0 record, including wins over No. 16 Tennessee, No. 4 Louisville, and No. 10 Kentucky, with the wins over Louisville and Kentucky coming in the last week.
The other Big Ten teams ranked in the top 10 are Nebraska at No. 5, Purdue at No. 7, and Wisconsin at No. 8
The Nittany Lions return to action for three games in the Penn State Invitational, with their first being at 8:30 p.m. on Friday, September 13, at Rec Hall. The game will be televised on FS1.
