[Photo Story] Forensic Science Club Hosts ‘State Slashers’ Haunted House

If you thought October couldn’t get any scarier, think again!

On Friday, October 18, and Saturday, October 19, the Forensic Science Club and Theme Park Engineers Group joined forces to bring “State Slashers” to life, transforming Spruce Cottage and Pine Cottage into terrifying haunted houses. This spooky spectacle wasn’t just about scares, though — proceeds from the event went to support the HEART Foundation and Give the Kids the World Village, ensuring that while visitors faced their fears, they were also making a difference.

Here’s a behind-the-scenes look at the thrills, chills, and good causes that powered this year’s haunted house.

The cottages were dressed to impress for the event with exterior lights and indoor innovations seeking to scare patrons.

Our first stop was Spruce Cottage…

Michael Myers, Ghostface, and Jason Voorhees were all in attendance to give community members a good fright.

Over 300 tickets were sold throughout Friday evening with similar figures on Saturday.

As visitors navigated the eerie halls of “State Slashers,” it was impossible to ignore the spine-chilling decorations that brought every nightmare to life.

From blood-splattered walls to unsettling props lurking in every corner, the haunted house was an immersive horror experience.

But what really set the tone were the actors, fully committed to delivering heart-pounding scares. Their dedication to each role ensured no one left without a jolt of terror. They brought the haunted house to life with every scream, making “State Slashers” an unforgettable Halloween tradition.
