Cafe Laura Announces Spring 2025 Dinner Themes

Cafe Laura, an on-campus eatery run by Penn State hospitality management students, announced its themes for its spring 2025 dinners. Cafe Laura helps provide students with the opportunity to work on both hospitality and dining skills for future careers in both industries.

Each semester, students enrolled in HM 430 collaborate to host and run a series of theme dinners. The course is a senior-level capstone class required for all hospitality management majors.

This semester’s eight dinner themes range from sports to fictitious destinations. Each will take place twice during the semester for guests to choose from, each with its own unique twist.

Drawing from the silver screen, two of the themes will take guests into the movie world with “Te Fiti’s Table: A Moana Adventure” served on March 20 and April 17, along with “An Evening in Oz: A Wicked Meal Awaits” served on March 27 and April 24. The menu cleverly references both characters and places in these mythical worlds to draw guests in.

Folks wanting to go abroad can take a trip with a few of these dates. Guests looking to try some French cuisine can try out “Le Petit Bistro; Served With French Charm” served on February 27 and April 3. Those looking for a bit of Irish luck and food can visit on March 25 and April 22 for “Emerald Isle – A Toast to Ireland.”

Those looking for a fresh food night may want to try “Into the Garden – A Farm to Table Experience” served March 18 and April 15. For folks looking for a bit more adventure, “Hell’s Kitchen: Bringing the Heat to Happy Valley” may be right up your alley, being served on March 6 and April 10.

Cafe Laura also drew from the sports world with their “Golf & Gourmets – Southern Elegance on the Fairway” served on March 4 and April 8. Guests can also find some festival food done well at “Groovy Bites – A Festival Street Feast” served on February 25 and April 1.

Cafe Laura does not serve alcohol but does have a BYOB policy where guests may bring two 12-ounce beers per person or one 750 mL bottle of wine per two people.
