Lady Lions Forward Cam Rust Enters Transfer Portal

Penn State women’s basketball forward Cam Rust has entered the transfer portal, she announced Monday night. Rust joined Jill Jekot, Talayah Walker, Alli Campbell, Grace Hall, Gracie Merkle, Moriah Murray, Ariana Williams, and Gabby Elliott as Penn State players hitting the portal, leaving at most four players on the roster.

The Wakefield, Rhode Island, native struggled to gain consistent playing time throughout the season as a true freshman. Rust averaged 1.8 points, 1.1 rebounds, and 0.2 assists per game in her sole year as a Lady Lion.

Rust scored her season-high 10 points in Penn State’s early season meeting against Canisius. She secured her first collegiate double-double in that matchup with 10 rebounds behind a season-high 13 minutes on the floor.

Rust only saw action in 19 games and 94 total minutes in her time as a Lady Lion.
