Three Penn State Men’s Lacrosse Players Earn USILA All-American Honors

Three Penn State men’s lacrosse players were named All-Americans by the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA), the organization announced Thursday. Matt Traynor, Hunter Aquino, and Alex Ross were all named All-Americans.
Three of the same four Penn State players that made USA Lacrosse’s All-American teams last week and were named All-Americans by Inside Lacrosse were recognized except for Kevin Parnham.
Traynor and Aquino both made third-team All-American. Traynor scored 33 goals and 16 assists this season, leading the Big Ten in points and goals per game. The Big Ten Offensive Player of the Year was recently selected as the No. 6 overall pick of the PLL College Draft by the New York Atlas.
As for Aquino, the rookie had an incredible rookie campaign as he scored 15 goals and 18 assists, totaling 33 points this season on his way to being named the Big Ten Freshman of the Year.
Ross was given a USILA Lacrosse All-American honorable mention for the second consecutive year. He was a key contributor to Penn State’s defense as he compiled 24 ground balls, 21 caused turnovers, and one goal this season. This earned him a second-team All-Big Ten nod after securing a Defensive Player of the Week honor earlier in the season.
The No. 5-ranked Nittany Lions will take on No. 1-ranked Cornell at noon on Saturday, May 24, at Gillette Stadium in the semifinals of the NCAA Tournament. The game will be televised on ESPN2.
