Penn State Men’s Hockey Commit Kieren Dervin Drafted No. 65 Overall By Vancouver Canucks

A third Nittany Lion is off the board!

Penn State men’s hockey class of 2026 commit Kieren Dervin was selected in the third round with the No. 65 overall pick by the Vancouver Canucks in the 2025 NHL Draft on Saturday. Dervin is the third Nittany Lion to hear his name called this draft, joining signee Jackson Smith and center Charlie Cerrato.

Dervin is a 6’2″ left-handed center born in 2007 out of Gloucester, Ontario, known for his speed and two-way play. The Canadian announced his commitment to Guy Gadwosky and the Nittany Lions in 2023. It appears he won’t suit up for the blue and white in Hockey Valley until the 2026-27 season.

Dervin starred at St. Andrew’s College, where he totaled 79 points in 50 games this past season. He also made his OHL debut with the Kingston Frontenacs, appearing in 10 games last season.
