Penn Stated Ranked No. 40 In LinkedIn’s Top Colleges

LinkedIn has created a Top Colleges ranking, finding the top 50 colleges in the US that best set up graduates for long-term success, with Penn State coming in at No. 40.

The rankings were determined on five pillars: “job placement, internships and recruiter demand, career success, network strength, and knowledge breadth.” These pillars focused on the career outcomes of alumni, including job placement rates and growth, how many alumni held internships or started companies post-grad, how strong the alumni network is, and unique fields of study and skills gained.

Penn State also came in the top five for knowledge breadth, with top industries of technology and internet, transportation equipment manufacturing, and medical practices. The most notable skills for alumni on LinkedIn are in MATLAB, architecture, and materials science.

The top job locations for Penn State alumni were Philadelphia, New York City, and Washington, D.C.
