Drew Allar Inks Deal With Nike Football

Penn State football star quarterback Drew Allar is joining the Nike family, as it was announced on Nike Football’s Instagram Thursday afternoon.

The post reads “Coming for the Lion’s Share.” and it welcomes the Nittany Lion gunslinger to the Nike family in the caption.

Nike appears to be the biggest NIL deal for the Medina, Ohio, native known to the public. Allar was recently a part of a clothing line deal with American Eagle and Travis Kelce.

The irony shines as just this week, it was reported that Penn State Athletics is on the verge of leaving Nike for Adidas starting in 2026. Penn State has been with Nike since 1993, and Nittany Lion legend Joe Paterno and Nike founder Phil Knight had a long-standing friendship that helped foster the partnership.

Adidas is rumored to be offering Penn State far more money than the current deal with Nike offers. The deal with Adidas is pending Board of Trustees approval.

Allar will not be affected by the Adidas deal as he is set to graduate in the winter before taking his talents to the NFL next spring.
