No. 2 Penn State football is back in Beaver Stadium for its week two clash against the FIU Panthers. The Nittany Lions come off a season-opening thrashing of Nevada in week one as they look to build towards a more cohesive offensive performance and further evaluate position depth.

Television
The Big Ten Network (BTN) will broadcast Penn State’s week two game with Guy Haberman on play-by-play, Yogi Roth on color commentary, and Rhett Lewis reporting from the sidelines. Kickoff is slated for noon. Penn State also played on the BTN in last season’s week two win over Bowling Green.

Weather
Saturday will be mostly cloudy and not as warm as this past week for the Beaver Stadium crowd, according to Accuweather. The high is 71° with a RealFeel of 69° and a 60% probability of precipitation come game time. However, only 0.06 inches of rain are projected in the forecast. Wind will be a steady 10 miles per hour with wind gusts up to 20 mph, twice as much as last week.
Injuries
James Franklin announced that Defensive end Zuriah Fisher and cornerback Zion Tracy are good to go for the game following Wednesday’s practice. He did say Fisher would be on a snap count, however. Wideouts Josiah Brown and Kaden Saunders are out with long-term injuries. Defensive end Max Granville is also out with a long-term injury.
Series History
Penn State dismantled FIU in a 59-0 shutout in the two programs’ only meeting on the gridiron on September 1, 2007. The Nittany Lions held the Panthers to -3 rushing yards and 117 passing yards. Penn State sacked FIU quarterbacks Wayne Younger and Colt Anderson a combined seven times. Former Nittany Lions signal caller Anthony Morelli threw for 295 yards and three touchdowns on 23-for-38 passing.
