Happy White Out gameday, folks!

Penn State football returns to Beaver Stadium fresh off its first bye week of the season for a White Out date against the Oregon Ducks. It’s one of the most highly-anticipated White Out matchups in history as Penn State looks to silence the critics in its first Big Ten game of the season. The college football world’s eyes are all set on Happy Valley in week five.

Television

The White Out battle will take place on NBC with Noah Eagle on play-by-play, Penn State alum Todd Blackledge on color commentary, and Kathryn Tappen as the sideline reporter. Penn State last played on the network in last season’s 28-13 win over Wisconsin in late October. Kickoff is slated for 7:30 p.m.

18 players missed Penn State’s final non-conference contest against Villanova on September 13. Kaden Saunders, Lyrick Samuel, Josiah Brown, Logan Cunningham, Peter Gonzalez, Andrew Olesh, Max Granville, Mason Robinson, Jordan Mayer, Mylachi Williams, De’Andre Cook, Kaleb Artis, Bekkem Kritza, Amiel Davis, Kari Jackson, Donte Nastasi, Liam Horan, and Brady O’Hara all missed time.

Series History

Penn State and Oregon have met five times before. Penn State owns the series lead 3-2, but Oregon topped the Nittany Lionsn in last season’s Big Ten Championship in a 45-37 thriller. The teams’ last meeting before the conference title game was in a 38-20 Penn State Rose Bowl win in 1995. Saturday’s White Out will be Oregon’s first time playing in Happy Valley since October 3, 1964, when the Ducks beat the Nittany Lions 22-14.

The Nittany Lions -3.5-point favorites against the Ducks with the over/under set at 53.5 points, according to DraftKings.
