Penn State women’s volleyball dropped three spots to No. 19 in the week six AVCA poll on Monday afternoon.

The Nittany Lions were previously ranked No. 16.

Penn State took on two Big Ten matchups this past week, going 1-1 on the week. Last Friday, Penn State was swept by No. 1 Nebraska, which remains at the top of this week’s AVCA poll. The Nittany Lions later came back on Sunday, while on the road, to defeat the Maryland Terrapins 3-2.

In the win against Maryland, Florida transfer Kennedy Martin led the team to success with 21 kills, 11 digs, and four aces.

After five weeks of play, the Nittany Lions are now 8-6 on the season.

Penn State is set to host its next matchup this week against No. 7 Wisconsin in Rec Hall for its White Out game. This fierce matchup between two top-25 Big Ten rivals is set for 7 p.m. on Friday, October 10, and will be streamed on the Big Ten Network.
