Penn State Softball Jumps To No. 24 In Softball America Rankings

Penn State softball earned a spot in the Softball America rankings after a successful weekend trip in Orlando, Florida. The Nittany Lions won five games in three days SpaceU Classic, including a win over previous No. 25-ranked UCF.

Penn State has been blazing hot as of late, riding an impressive nine-game win streak. Currently, the team is 13-2 with one ranked win. Freshman Allison Oneacre leads the team with a .419 average and 27 total RBIs. Oneacre was named the Big Ten Freshman of the Week for the second consecutive time. Not far behind Oneacre is junior Brooke Klosowicz, batting .385 while knocking in 14 RBIs.

The Nittany Lions will hit the road and attempt to ride their hot streak into the Tennessee Invitational. The first game of the weekend for Penn State will be against N.C. Central at 12:30 p.m. on Friday. The most notable matchup throughout the stretch will be against the No. 1-ranked and hosting Lady Volunteers.
