PSU Harrisburg Names New Interim Chancellor

Last week, Penn State Harrisburg named Mukund Kulkarni as interim chancellor, replacing Madlyn Hanes effective July 1. Hanes is leaving to become Penn State's vice president for commonwealth campuses.

Kulkarni has been senior associate dean for academic affairs at Penn State Harrisburg since 2006. Kulkarni, a professor of Finance, has been very active at Penn State Harrisburg since he joined as a member of the business faculty in 1985. He was also the director of the School of Business Administration from 1996-2006.

CCSG Elects New President

Yesterday Mohamed Raouda and Martin James Worsham debated it out at the last council meeting of the semester, regarding who deserves the right to lead the Commonwealth Campus Student Government for the next academic year.

After a very intense debate, the council opted to elect the Raouda-Khoury ticket to serve as President and Vice President for the 2010-2011 academic year.

Committed to Change, Ready to Act

"Committed to change, ready to act" is the slogan that Mohamed Raouda and Peter Khoury are running on for the post of Commonwealth Campus Student Government presidency. The Raouda-Khoury ticket seeks to provide an improved student experience outside the classroom and to advocate and represent the students of the commonwealth. Both candidates come from a wealth of experience in student government and have worked very closely with past President George Khoury and current President Nick Borsuk. They hope to bring this experience to ensure the onward progress of CCSG.

One Acts-travaganza!

It has been a great week if you are a fan of theater. Mamma Mia was in town, NRT is presenting "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest", and One Stage Revolution is hosting their first ever One Acts-travaganza! One Stage Revolution, as I have previously mentioned, is a new theater troupe on campus. Their plays deal with many social problems in this world, through a variety of viewpoints. You honestly do not know which character with whom to identify (sort of like Lost!).

More details on these plays after the jump.

UPUA Progress Slowed by Infighting, Controversy

Last night's meeting was by far the most highly attended of the fifth assembly of the University Park Undergraduate Association. They weren't there just to see Robert's Rules of Order in action, that's for sure.

Read our full account of last night's UPUA meeting, including the Noah Karn incident and much more.

Follow the White Rabbit….

.....down the rabbit hole, where you will find David Adewumi. He offers you the blue pill and the red pill. You take the blue pill; the story ends, you wake up in your bed and believe whatever you want to believe. You take the red pill, you stay in Wonderland, and he shows you how deep the rabbit hole goes. Unfortunately for you, choosing to take the blue pill means you never learn the joy of plugging into a machine and learning Kung Fu.

This is NOT the Matrix (actually, how do we know that?). In this world, Project Blue Pill is an advocacy group and it's the brainchild of David Adewumi. Project Blue Pill describes itself as the "voice of the students". It was created to solve the problems issues faced by the Penn State Community and help to implement initiatives provided by other organizations. The problems are the same Adewumi discussed in his campaign, with a few additions. The basic issues they want to deal with regard costs, housing arrangements, safety and post graduation problems.

Project Blue Pill's mission is simple: read more about it after the jump.
