It's that time of year again, where for whatever reason, the extremely weather-appropriate demographic at Penn State celebrates the slightly less than warm weather. We just have to admit it and realize there is no use in denying: it's SNUGG season, everyone. Spandex, North Face, and UGGs: these have become the obligatory novelty that no one seems to point out, despite its ubiquity ad nauseam. There is no coincidence that UGG is also a self-referencing onomatopoeia for those of us who just can't deal with this ridiculous trend anymore.
Don't get me wrong, I don't really care what people wear. It's the frequency that I see girls wearing this exact outfit that bothers me. And it's not just how often I see that bothers me, it's really why I see it so often that does. It has become a fashionable way to dress down. Which doesn't make any sense.
Everyone know sthat this time of year, once the weather turns chilly and crisp, there's a few things that girls reach for before they brace the weather outside of their apartment. Yes, I am referring to SNUGG. Here, SNUGG stands for Spandex, North Face, and UGGs. In fact, as I write this, I, too, am sporting this uniform.
With winter just around the corner at Penn State, we get to enjoy the wonderful three short weeks between shorts and sandals season and the advent of floor-length North Face parkas and Ugg boots, also known as autumn. Fall is my absolute favorite time of the year for fashion. You can’t just throw on some skimpy little thing and run around like the people who use their tan as clothing, and you can’t hide those pajama jeans you’re wearing under your full body snowsuit to survive the cold. For fall, you have to put it all out there with your best layers on top.

But each year some 725 students get to know Sam Richards as that eccentric SOC 119 professor who stands up on tables to deliver inspiring out-of-the-box perspectives on racial issues every Tuesday and Thursday in 100 Thomas. Fasta & Ravioli Co. is going to expand to another location in the coming spring. The new, handmade pasta and ravioli business location will be located in Pleasant Gap, eight miles from downtown State College.
