
On March 31, Penn State will be the first university in the country to directly auction off licenses to its intellectual property -- specifically, the rights to certain pieces of university research conducted by College of Engineering professors.

The loudest voices in this upcoming Board of Trustees election are those who are living in the past, driven primarily by an unhealthy thirst for vengeance. They refuse to acknowledge that the present poses new and distinct challenges, and that our Trustees are the ones who must lead this university through an uncertain future.

The recent kingmakers of the Penn State Board of Trustees announced its three endorsements this morning, with little surprise. Penn Staters for Responsible Stewardship will support Alice Pope, Bob Jubelrirer, and Al Lord after a closed primary process between six candidates.

Jay Paterno's entry into statewide politics could be over before it gets started. At least, it will be if Harrisburg City Councilman and Lieutenant Governor candidate Brad Koplinski has anything to say about it.
