Hearts melted earlier this week when this heartwarming video starring a young cancer patient and her nurse became a viral phenomenon. The video stars Kamryn, a 7-year-old battling Kidney Cancer and her nurse, a former Penn Stater and avid THONer, Tom Shelley lip syncing to the classic tune “Love is an Open Door,” from Frozen. What started as a simple way to cheer Kamryn up during a trip to the hospital for a blood transfusion soon gained national attention when Kamryn's mother and biggest supporter uploaded the video to the #TeamKamrynn Facebook page on July 3.

Michael Pilato recently added some larger-than-life Penn Staters to his Inspiration Mural, which he unveiled over Arts Fest Weekend. Pilato, arguably State College's most famous artist, added individuals from all aspects of Penn State, from athletics to the arts and most notably, THON.

THON has officially earned a top spot in Business Insider's list of the 20 Best College Traditions in the U.S. The list, which was announced on Monday, compiles some of the some of the most popular and memorable collegiate traditions.

The third of Major League Baseball's games benefitting THON was announced over the weekend, and it will pit the Philadelphia Phillies against the San Francisco Giants on July 23 at Citizens Bank Park.

The Pittsburgh Pirates will host a pair of games at PNC Park to benefit THON and the Four Diamonds Fund on June 26 and 27, the third straight year the Buccos are hosting two for the cause. The Pirates will play the New York Mets, who also just announced the date of their THON game, at 7:05 p.m. on both dates. Swell promotions accompany each contest -- fireworks will follow the first game, and free T-shirts can be had at the second.
