
The Center for Performing Arts is hosting a Student Patio Party on September 5th. It will take place from 7 p.m. until 9 p.m. in the Eisenhower Auditorium. It will feature the singer-songwriter The Ready Set.

The State College Spikes, the single-A affiliate of the Pittsburgh Pirates, will hold a Prevent Child Abuse Night at Medlar Field at Lubrano Park on Wednesday night. Tickets for the ballgame are 10 dollars, with 7 dollars benefiting Prevent Child Abuse Pennsylvania as the Spikes take on the Auburn Doubledays, a single-A affiliate of the Washington Nationals.

THON.org got a new, much needed look yesterday. The new website provides users with a much more friendly interface -- a refreshing update from the old, often confusing site. There are still some remnants from the old site, including essentially the same content, but the site has several noticeable improvements.

Despite everything that has happened over the last year, job recruitments for Penn State students is looking better -- not worse -- than it did last fall. Penn State's Career Services announced that the 2012 Fall Career Days will most likely see a nine percent increase in company turnout from last year's career fair, jumping from 500 to 545 potential employers in attendance.
The Bryce Jordan Center announced this morning that the Zac Brown Band will return to Penn State on October 10th with openers Blackberry Smoke and Levi Lowrey.
