Grilled Cheese Is Back At The BJC For THON

It’s delicious, (kind of) nutritious, heart-warming, and for a limited time it’s back at the BJC for just $3. That’s right, it’s grilled cheese, an all-time great food, and one of the best deals at THON, as far as food goes.

Along with the typical fare served at the Jordan Center, the grilled cheese stand is set up outside portal two, right next to gate A. Like last year, the sandwiches feature the simple recipe of just bread and cheese made on a panini press. The press makes the grilled cheeses fairly flat, but the payoff of real, melted cheese, and bread that isn’t burnt makes it the perfect treat.

If you can’t stand the thought of breaking up one of the great food couples in grilled cheese and tomato soup, fear not! For just another $3 you can add soup, and convince yourself that the delicious combo is now somehow healthier because of the word “tomato.” For something that’s actually a little healthier, but just as grilled cheese-themed, you can get a pickle for just $1, a steal given the normal THON food prices. The stand also sells various drinks to quench your cheese-induced thirst.

So if the fatigue of standing, and the dim lighting of the BJC are starting to get to you, consider taking your hunger to gate A for some well-deserved comfort food. It’s won’t be the best meal you ever eat, but it will certainly be a nice pick-me-up, plus your stomach, and your taste buds, will thank you.
