Natty Nittany: Black and Brown

Mixing back and brown is an ambitious decision.

Mixing these two colors can work, but it’s risky. The trick is to combine black and brown only when an article of clothing compels you to do so. Check out how this week’s Natty Nittany does it.

Brenna has a fun black and brown scarf and brown and black leopard print shirt, accentuated by fluffy brown earmuffs and weathered brown boots. She shows us a good example of how to wear leggings. Even though leggings look bad in SNUGGs, I know ladies love them for their warmth. Pairing them with a smart black jacket and textured brown accessories is the way to go for a warm and fashionable look.

Wearing black and brown solids is a NO in my book. Wearing separate leather accessories, like black leather shoes and a brown leather belt, is also a NO.

So next time you’re trying to wear black and brown, please don’t make the mistake or wear brown UGGS and a black jacket. If you read my post on Friday, you already know how I feel.

Natty Nittany: Sensational Fall Outfits

Even with the storm clouds of news and reporters in Happy Valley, the sun is out and it’s perfect fall weather. I am excited to report that this beautiful weather has meant the decline in North Face jackets I have been seeing around campus! Regardless of the fact that they don’t look good on anyone, it’s almost too hot for them. But this warm weather does not excuse the shredded denim mini-skirt and belly shirt outfit I saw yesterday. It’s not so hot that you can be delirious enough to dress like it’s 1998. I really wish I had taken a picture of it!

“Tim’s Law,” the Timothy J. Piazza Anti-Hazing Law, was approved by the Pennsylvania Senate Monday. The legislation is named after Tim Piazza, who died following a hazing ritual at the on-campus Beta Theta Pi fraternity house in February 2017.  Now that it’s been passed by both Pennsylvania’s Senate and House of Representatives, the bill will move […]
