[Photo Story] Saturday At THON 2024

Saturday is always a special day at the Bryce Jordan Center.

Now that THON’s only full calendar day is over, it’s time to look back on what Saturday had to offer for THON 2024. With the annual Pep Rally, a performance by DJ Dosk, and the Kids’ Talent Show, there was no shortage of entrainment.

As always, our photographers were on the scene to capture all the action. Let’s take a look back at some of our favorite photos from the day.

Donny Burns & The 3rd Degree got things going on the right foot with an early morning performance of hits from the 80s and 90s.

The rest of the way-too-early hours of the day were filled with line dances, slides of strength, and a performance by Flavor Wave.

As more folks started to file back into the Bryce Jordan Center, Stars In Sapphire performed a set of pop hits. Not long after, Pennsylvania Senator Bob Casey appeared on stage to address the crowd.

Some highlights of the afternoon included a professional finger painter, Zambonis, and Purple Car’s victory in the thrilling car race.

Outside the Bryce Jordan Center, THON hosted two events for THON kids: the Explorers Program and Athlete Hour.

Back at the Bryce Jordan Center, Ted & The Hi-Fis and Molly Countermine played some early 2000s hits to get the crowd pumped up for the evening activities as the upper bowl began to fill up.

The first event of the evening was the Kids’ Talent Show, which provided some absolutely adorable entertainment and smiles.

The evening’s headline event was the annual Pep Rally. Hosted by Char Morett-Curtiss and Christian Hackenberg, the event featured some impressive performances but was ultimately won by men’s gymnastics.

After the Pep Rally, DJ Dosk took to the stage to entertain the crowd as students danced and bubbles were blown.

It was all smiles at the BJC.

As the clock neared midnight, the final performance of Saturday was a throwback set by Walk on Mars.
