Ace Baldwin Jr. Named To Naismith Trophy Player Of The Year Watch List

Penn State men’s basketball point guard Ace Baldwin Jr. was named to the Naismith Trophy Men’s College Player of the Year Watch List, the organization announced Wednesday.

Earlier this week, Baldwin was also named to the watch list of the Naismith Bob Cousy Point Guard of the Year Award.

Baldwin, a graduate student in his second year with the Nittany Lions, was one of 10 players representing the Big Ten on the initial list and one of 50 players total.

After following Mike Rhoades from VCU, Baldwin scored 14.2 points per game, while averaging 2.7 steals per outing on his way to being named Big Ten Defensive Player of the Year in his senior year.

Baldwin and Penn State open their season at 7:30 p.m. on Monday, November 4, at the Bryce Jordan Center against Binghamton.
