Gameday Coverage: No. 3 Penn State vs. No. 1 Oregon

It’s Big Ten Championship time, folks.

The Nittany Lions return to Indianapolis, Indiana, for the first time since 2016 as they’ll take on No. 1 Oregon for conference supremacy.

The Big Ten Championship has massive implications this year, as the champion will get a bye into the second round of the College Football Playoff while the loser should still make it into the field.

Here’s everything you need to know before the big game on Saturday.

Television

The Big Ten Championship will kick off at 8 p.m. on CBS. Brad Nessler will handle the play-by-play, while Gary Danielson will serve as the color analyst and Jenny Dell will provide coverage from the sideline. This will be the Nittany Lions’ fourth appearance on CBS this season.

Radio

Local: 99.5 & 103.7 FM/1450AM, Sirius/XM: 82/161/195

Weather

The Big Ten Championship is played in the enclosed Lucas Oil Stadium, but outside the stadium, it’ll be mostly sunny with a high of 42°, according to AccuWeather.

Injuries

James Franklin said on Sunday he was “hopeful,” wide receiver Trey Wallace would be back in the lineup for the Big Ten Championship after he was listed as questionable before Maryland and didn’t see the field.

Cornerback Elliott Washington II was also seen during the media practice viewing window on Wednesday after missing Minnesota and Maryland.

After practice on Wednesday, Franklin said he had confidence both Washington and Wallace would play on Saturday.

Last Meeting

Penn State last met the Ducks in the 1995 Rose Bowl, which the Nittany Lions won 38-20. This will be the fifth time the two teams meet, with Penn State leading 3-1.

Betting Lines

Penn State opened as 3.5-point underdogs against the Ducks. It’s just the second time this year that the Nittany Lions aren’t favored. The over/under is set at 49.5 points and the Penn State moneyline is set at +140.
