[Photo Story] Penn State Students Flood Downtown After Eagles’ Super Bowl Victory

Downtown State College erupted into a sea of green late Sunday night as Penn State students and Philadelphia Eagles fans flooded the streets to celebrate Philadelphia’s triumphant Super Bowl victory over the Kansas City Chiefs.

Chanting, cheering, and climbing lampposts, the crowd brought unmistakable Philly energy to Beaver Avenue. The downtown was alive with pride and unity as fans celebrated not just a championship win but the spirit of the City of Brotherly Love. Our photographers were on the ground and captured every unforgettable moment.

Groups paraded down Beaver Avenue, working their way toward the center of downtown.

Crowds came together with fireworks and Eagles chants at the intersection of Beaver Avenue and Heister Street.

No lampposts were safe from the Eagles fans.

State College Police Chief John Gardner issued a police order to disperse the area, and officers in riot gear were on the scene to settle the crowd.

The celebration ended peacefully.
