Yanic Konan Niederhauser Declares For NBA Draft, Will Maintain College Eligibility

Penn State men’s basketball center Yanic Konan Niederhauser declared for the NBA draft while maintaining his college eligibility, he announced Wednesday morning.

“After careful consideration, I’ve decided to declare for the 2025 NBA Draft. In the meantime, I wll maintain my college eligibility,” Konan Niederhauser wrote on Instagram. “In case I decide to withdraw from the draft, I will return to Penn State for my senior year. I’m excited to see what the future holds.”

In his first season with the Nittany Lions, Konan Niederhauser averaged 12.9 points and 6.3 rebounds per game.

Konan Niederhauser was the only top five scorer last season for Penn State who still has eligibility remaining.

The Nittany Lions have already lost graduating seniors Ace Baldwin Jr., Zach Hicks, Puff Johnson, Nick Kern Jr., and D’Marco Dunn. Freshmen Miles Goodman, Jahvin Carter, and Hudson Ward have also entered the transfer portal.

Konan Niederhauser, a Switzerland native spent two seasons at Northern Illinois before transferring to Penn State, and if he returns, will have one year of eligibility remaining.
