Big Ten Network To Air Penn State-Pitt Women’s Volleyball Spring Match

The Penn State’s women’s volleyball spring match against Pitt at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, April 9, will be televised by the Big Ten Network. It’s the first time the Big Ten Network will ever air a spring volleyball match.

The reigning national champion Nittany Lions will take the floor at Rec Hall for the first time since Katie Schumacher-Cawley became the first-ever female head coach to win a national title.

Pitt, which has gone to three consecutive national semifinals, will return reigning AVCA Player of the Year Olivia Babcock.

Last season, Penn State fell to Pitt in a 3-0 sweep that saw Babcock go for 13 kills. On the Penn State side of the net, Jess Mruzik, Taylor Trammell, and Camryn Hannah led the team in kills. The three all graduated.

The Nittany Lions’ spring roster features four of its five recruiting class of 2025 prospects and one of its two transfers, Emmi Sellman from Ohio State.

The match will be played at Rec Hall and will be free for all spectators.
