Gameday Coverage: 2025 Blue-White Game

We are so back.

After a 13-3 season that culminated in a College Football Playoff semifinal loss, Penn State returns to Beaver Stadium for its annual spring game. The game will kick off at 2 p.m.

This year’s format will look a bit different than past Blue-White contests. Up first, James Franklin said his team will start with two seven-on-seven “skelli” periods between the offense and defense with no linemen. Next, Penn State plans to play four shortened quarters in typical Blue-White fashion. The first quarter will be “thud” tempo, which allows veterans and proven starters to compete without the higher risk of injury. The other three quarters will be full contact.

Television

The Blue-White Game will not be televised this year. Franklin has discussed that televising the event gives other teams free film on the Penn State program and has elected to keep the game off television screens.

Radio

It is likely that the Blue-White Game will be broadcast on the radio. There are no specifics on where the broadcast will be available at this time.

Weather

Saturday should start with a couple of showers and possibly a thunderstorm in the early morning. From 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., expect it to be cloudy with some sun appearing in the afternoon. The day is expected to have a high of 70 degrees and a low of 40 degrees, according to AccuWeather. There could be wind during the game at around 15 mph.

Last Meeting

White took home its second straight victory with a 27-0 triumph over Blue. The game featured two touchdowns from running back Quinton Martin Jr. and a touchdown from Andrew Rappleyea.
