Prime Video Announces Saquon Barkley Documentary

Amazon’s Prime Video has announced a documentary on Penn State legend and Super Bowl winner Saquon Barkley. The feature-length documentary, titled Saquon, will release on Thursday, October 9.

It will take viewers through Barkley’s five-year NFL journey through personal video diaries, from his ACL surgery, the drama of contract negotiations with the New York Giants, joining the Philadelphia Eagles, and lifting the Lombardi Trophy.

Saquon will also show Barkley’s life outside the field as a father, husband, and friend to paint a full picture of the star’s life.

Barkley quickly became a Penn State legend in his three years in Happy Valley, appearing in 38 games with 3,843 yards and 43 touchdowns, the program’s all-time rushing touchdowns record. He was selected No. 2 overall by the New York Giants in the 2018 NFL draft, winning the 2018 NFL Rookie of the Year.

His time in New York was injury-ridden before moving over to Philadelphia, where he was a key part of its Super Bowl LIX title run and was named NFL Offensive Player of the Year. The running back was most recently named the No. 1 NFL Player of 2025.

The documentary premieres the same day as the Giants and Eagles Thursday Night matchup, the second time he will play his old team.
