The now-unranked Nittany Lions return to Beaver Stadium to battle Northwestern in their third Big Ten test of the season. Penn State is coming off of a horrendous 42-37 loss to the previously-winless UCLA Bruins at the Rose Bowl in week six after dropping its White Out to Oregon on September 27. Can the Beaver Stadium crowd propel the Nittany Lions to break their winless streak and get in the Big Ten win column?

Penn State had 16 players out for its matchup against UCLA. Tony Rojas, Kaden Saunders, Lyrick Samuel, Josiah Brown, Peter Gonzalez, Bekkem Kritza, Jaxon Smolik, Max Granville, Mason Robinson, Kaleb Artis, Jordan Mayer, Brady O’Hara, Liam Horan, J’Ven Williams, Anthony Donkoh, Donte Nastasi, and Kari Jackson all missed the game against the Bruins.

Donkoh was seen at practice on Wednesday, signaling his quick return to the lineup.

Series History

Penn State holds a 16-5 series lead over Northwestern. The Nittany Lions took the most recent matchup between the two squads in a 41-13 win in 2023. Nick Singleton had 139 all-purpose yards and two touchdowns in the game.

Penn State goes into Saturday riding a three-game win streak dating back to 2017. Northwestern’s last win over Penn State came in a close 23-21 win in 2015.
