Penn State hits the road for its regular-season finale against Rutgers. The Nittany Lions are riding a two-game win streak as the Scarlet Knights come off a 42-9 loss against Ohio State. Both teams will fight for bowl eligibility as Penn State looks to avoid missing out on postseason play due to on-field performance for the first time since 2004.

Terry Smith said after practice Wednesday that freshman defensive end Chaz Coleman will be a game-time decision after missing Penn State’s last three games.

Drew Allar, Jaxon Smolik, Josiah Brown, Kaden Saunders, Peter Gonzalez, Matt Outten, Tikey Hayes, Corey Smith, Quinton Martin Jr., Jabree Coleman, Brady O’Hara, Caleb Brewer, Liam Horan, Max Granville, Mason Robinson, Kaleb Artis, Jordan Mayer, Kari Jackson, Jackson Pryts, Tony Rojas, Antoine Belgrave-Shorter, Donte Nastasi, Bobby Mears, and Owen Wafle all missed action against the Cornhuskers.
Series History
Penn State holds a 32-2 all-time series lead over Rutgers with a 17-game win streak dating back to 1989. The two squads last met in 2023, where the Nittany Lions won a 27-6 decision in Beaver Stadium.
The key storyline is that Rutgers has never beaten Penn State at home. Both of the Scarlet Knights’ series wins happened in State College, including their 26-3 win in the first-ever matchup between the two programs in 1918.
