Report: Former Penn State Football Wide Receivers Coach Marques Hagans Hired At Michigan

Former Penn State football wide receivers coach Marques Hagans is heading to Michigan to be the program’s next assistant wide receivers coach, Adam Rittenberg announced on Thursday.

Hagans spent three seasons in Happy Valley, coming over from his alma mater, Virginia. Penn State ranked second in the Big Ten conference with 54 receptions of 20 yards or more in 2024, but only 27 came from wide receivers.

Many believed the receivers outside of the tight ends continued to underperform under Hagans three years leading the room. The Hampton, Virginia, native now joins Kyle Whittingham in Ann Arbor, starting a new era for one of Penn State’s Big Ten rivals.

Hagans was replaced on Matt Campbell’s incoming staff by former Iowa State wide receivers coach Noah Pauley.
