Report: Former Penn State Football Tight End Brenton Strange Signs Three-Year Extension With Jacksonville Jaguars

Former Penn State football tight end Brenton Strange signed a three-year contract extension with the Jacksonville Jaguars on Wednesday, according to NFL Network insider Tom Pelissero. The deal gives Strange $25 million guaranteed and is worth up to $48 million.
Strange, who was selected in the second round by the Jaguars in the 2023 NFL Draft, has accumulated 986 yards and six touchdowns on 91 catches across three seasons in Jacksonville.
In 2025, he set career highs in catches (46), receiving yards (540), and touchdowns (3) while playing just 12 games due to a hip injury that sidelined him for five weeks.
The 25-year-old was heading into the final year of his rookie contract and was set to be an unrestricted free agent next spring, but will now remain in Jacksonville for the foreseeable future.
Strange appeared in 37 games for Penn State over four seasons. He racked up 70 receptions for 755 yards and 11 touchdowns in his time in Happy Valley.
