Former Four-Star Penn State Football Wide Receiver Commit Khalil Taylor Flips To Nebraska

Former class of 2027 Penn State commit and Four-star wide receiver Khalil Taylor has committed to Nebraska; he announced live on Rivals’ YouTube channel on Monday.

The 5-foot-11 receiver originally committed to the Nittany Lions on March 29, 2025, but decommitted on October 10, 2025, just before the firing of James Franklin.

He was then crystal balled to Penn State following an official visit on June 5, along with fellow four-star receiver Deshawn Hall, but both have now gone to different programs.

The Gibsonia, Pennsylvania, native is ranked as the No. 4 player in the state, the No. 13 receiver in the Class of 2027, and the No. 84 player in the nation, according to 247Sports’ composite rankings.

The multi-sport athlete boasts an 11.05-second time in the 100-meter dash and earned KDKA Super 7 2A Player of the Year and Century Conference Player of the Year honors on the field with Seaton LaSalle in 2024.

Taylor transferred to Pine-Richland for his junior season, recording 571 yards and 16 touchdowns on 33 receptions. He also added 70 yards on the ground on seven carries. His longest reception was for 76 yards.

The Cornhuskers are heating up on the recruiting trail in the 2027 class, now boasting six four-stars and the No. 1 quarterback in the class, Trae Taylor, according to 247Sports.

Four-star Landon Blum is still the only receiver committed to Penn State after Jamir Dean flipped to Georgia last month. The Nittany Lions did just get a pledge from 2028 quarterback James Armstrong, which could help the cause.

Taylor chose Nebraska over Alabama, Nebraska, Colorado and Penn State.
