Former Four-Star Penn State Football Running Back Commit Aiden Gibson Flips To Rutgers

Former Class of 2027 four-star Penn State football running back commit Aiden Gibson has flipped his commitment to Rutgers, per On3’s Hayes Fawcett. He will also reclassify to the Class of 2026.
Gibson originally committed to the Nittany Lions on May 12.
The Woodruff, South Carolina, native is tabbed as the No. 4 player in the state, No. 10 running back in the 2027 class, and No. 158 player nationally, per 247Sports’ Composite rankings. He rushed for 3,391 yards and 52 touchdowns on 599 carries in his high school career, per his MaxPreps profile. He added 70 receptions for 1,101 and 10 touchdowns through the air.
Gibson was Savon Huggins’ first commit as part of Penn State’s coaching staff and was the program’s fifth-highest rated recruit in the class at the time of his commitment. He is the Nittany Lions’ fifth flipped commit since Matt Campbell’s staff took over, joining Zachary Gleason Jr., Gabriel Jenkins, Jamir Dean, and Semajay Robinson.
Gibson had Rutgers in his final five. He leaves Penn State with one running back in its 2027 class in three-star Chukwuma Odoh.
