Three-Star Offensive Lineman Nicholas Dawkins Commits To Penn State

Penn State football landed another commitment in the class of 2020 when three-star offensive lineman Nicholas Dawkins made his pledge on Monday.

Dawkins, the son of former NBA big man Darryl Dawkins, is a guard from Parkland High School in Allentown, PA. At 6’4″ and 300 pounds, he has good size for an offensive lineman, and he played both the tackle and guard positions for the Trojans in 2018. Dawkins is the seventh-best prospect from the state of Pennsylvania in this recruiting cycle, according to 247Sports.

James Franklin is definitely beefing up his offensive line early in the 2020 recruiting cycle. Dawkins is already the fourth offensive lineman in the Nittany Lions’ recruiting class, joining Grant Toutant, RJ Adams, and Golden Achumba in the trenches.

Penn State has also secured commitments from four-star prospects Curtis Jacobs, Derek Wingo, and Joshuah Moten in this cycle along with three-star quarterback Micah Bowens. Dawkins is the ninth member of Penn State’s recruiting class of 2020.

Dawkins receiver his offer from Penn State during an unofficial visit on March 23, and he took another unofficial visit to Happy Valley on Monday. In 2018, the offensive lineman visited the Nittany Lions on October 27. Offensive line coach Matt Limegrover played a key role in landing Dawkins’ verbal commitment.

The newest member of Penn State’s recruiting class helped his team to a 7-5 record in 2018. You can watch highlights from his junior season here.
