Penn State Football Releases Jersey Numbers For Newest Players

Penn State football has released jersey numbers for the newest members of the team after an update to the roster.

While there was an update to the roster and jersey numbers in February, the Nittany Lions have since added a new group of freshmen and transfers.

Out of the transfer portal, Penn State recently landed commitments from Syracuse wide receiver Trebor Pena, who will wear No. 8 in the blue and white, and North Carolina linebacker Amare Campbell, who will wear No. 24. Those numbers were previously held by Tyler Johnson and Ta’Mere Robinson, respectively, both of whom left the program.

Additionally, ten new freshmen have joined the team for summer practices and are now officially listed on the blue and white’s roster.

On offense, tight end Matthew Henderson will rock No. 44, Tyler Warren’s old number, wide receiver Jeff Exinor Jr. will wear No. 80, and linemen Brady O’Hara and Malachi Goodman will don No. 59 and No. 75, respectively.

Defensively, cornerbacks Xxavier Thomas will wear No. 12 and Jahmir Joseph will wear No. 23, while defensive back Josh Johnson will have No. 15 and linebacker Cam Smith will have No. 26.

Rounding out the new players are defensive linemen, No. 19 Chaz Coleman and No. 46 Cortez Harris.

The Nittany Lions are set to open their season at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, August 30, at Beaver Stadium against Nevada. Their first Big Ten game will be at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, September 27, against Oregon in the White Out.
