In a press release late Sunday night, Michael Pipe, the presumptive Democratic nominee for PA's 5th Congressional District, was happy to announce his support for the bill and his dismay that his opposition, US Rep. Glenn Thompson, had voted no. He said the following:
"People should not have to decide whether to get health care of pay the rent. People should not have to decide between buying insurance for themselves or their kids. Insurance companies should be able to discriminate against people with pre-existing conditions. Young people should be able to stay on their parents plan until the age of 26."

Fashionistas rejoice! It is time for the second annual Spring Fashion Show hosted by the Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA) on March 24 at 7 p.m. at Café 210 West.
This year, March Fadness will feature items from local and national brands. A portion of the proceeds will go to The Prom Attire Event. This group saves and recycles gently used prom dresses. Tickets are $5 and you must be at least 21 years old to enter.
After winning HerCampus.com's 'Mr. Freshman: Penn State' contest, Mike Tubolino is competing for the national title. You can vote for him, check his profile, or watch his video, but first, read our interview with him!
What inspired you to run for this competition?
It was a spontaneous decision. I was not aware of the Mr. Freshman: Penn State contest until two days before the applications were due when a friend informed me through Facebook about this competition and said I had a chance of winning if I ran. I lightheartedly filled out the application, and sent it in literally an hour or two before the deadline. Fifteen minutes later I got an email stating I was one of four finalists. It was really more serendipity than inspiration.
Are you viewed differently amongst your peers because of your victory?
I am still the same person, but more people are aware of my presence. My close friends rag on me for it as a bit of a running joke. I get a lot of random people who I don't know saying, "I voted for you!" which is awesome because I love talking to random people.

Penn State's spring just got a bit louder and a lot more awesome.
Kickin' rad noise rock duo No Age will be the headlining act at this year's Arts Crawl, sponsored by SOMA. In an email, Devan Kochersperger, SOMA's Arts Crawl Chair, shed some more light on the event.
The event (our biggest of the year, also organized with the Visual Arts Student Alliance) is April 9th 2010. It will take place in the Arts buildings on campus (Visual Arts, Patterson, Borland, etc.). The local/regional band lineup has not been finalized yet, but there should be around 12 other bands in addition to the headliner No Age [...] This is one of the bigger bands SOMA has booked. Local bands will play staggered sets around the 'crawl' from 6 until 10PM, which is when doors to the headliner's room will open. At 10:30 No Age will take the stage in 315 Visual Arts Building. There will also be student minstrals who will improv music to guide visitors from building to building.
Although I'm curious as to what being a "student minstrel" entails, I'm more excited about No Age coming. SOMA seems to know what they're doing when it comes to booking acts. Maybe they should have a say with the music selection for Movin' On and UPUApaloozathonsaraswatifestfinale.

The new Jonah Hill and Russell Brand flick, "Get Him to the Greek", has a definite chance at premiering here at Penn State. The film is holding a contest to see which Big Ten school will get the honor of having the stars of the movie show up and premiere their work for free. We are currently in second place, but a late surge has put us in striking distance of Illinois.
Remember, the contest ends on April 5th, and the movie will be screened the week of April 18. After the jump, click the widget to demand it and get the film to PSU.
