Fraternity Holiday Lights Showcase

Every year the fraternities help make the Highlands district a little brighter, literally. Many of the houses in the neighborhood put up elaborate holiday light displays. The IFC and Panhellenic Councils put on the Holiday Lights tour. Onward State Staff Photographer Eric Weiss took the tour and we've put together a slideshow for your enjoyment. The seventh annual Edublog Award winners will be announced next week. The Eddies, or edublogs, were created in 2005 as a response to the restricted access many schools and universities placed on educational blog sites.

Taste of the Town 2010 To Benefit The AIDS Project

This Sunday, Dec. 12, more than 30 area restaurants, wine suppliers, breweries and other establishments will take part in the 13th annual Taste of the Town fundraiser in State College.

The night will feature dinner and live music, as well as wine and spirits, hors d'oeuvres, a silent auction and a live auction.

GoPSUSports Lede: Too Soon?

Something about the GoPSUSports.com recap of last night's basketball game between the Nittany Lions and Mount St. Mary's didn't sit quite right. No, it wasn't the fact that the Lions were tied with 30 seconds left in the game to a team whose college many would be hard pressed to find on a map (Emmitsburg, Maryland). On the 69th anniversary of the Pearl Harbor attacks that launched America into the second World War, GoPSUSports included into its game recap a rather interesting lede.

Penn State Survives Mount St. Mary’s Upset Bid

A three-pointer by Talor Battle with 1.3 seconds left turned out to be the final blow to a Mount Saint Mary's upset attempt as the Nittany Lions were able to hold off the Mountaineers 57-53 Tuesday night at the Bryce Jordan Center.
