Penn State football returns home to Beaver Stadium after a trip east to Philadelphia, where the Nittany Lions beat Temple 27-9 at Lincoln Financial Field.

The blue and white are 1-0 at home in 2026, dominating Marshall 45-0 in their Week 1 home opener. Now, they welcome Buffalo to town to cap off non-conference play.

Injuries

Since Buffalo is not a Big Ten opponent, Penn State’s injury availability report is not required to be made available prior to kickoff.

After getting banged up in camp, defensive tackles Armstrong Nnodim and Alijah Carnell are expected to be at full strength for the Nittany Lions on Saturday, according to Matt Campbell.

Linebacker Cam Smith missed the Temple game after playing 17 snaps against Marshall in Week 1. Smith practiced on Tuesday, but Campbell says he is questionable for the Buffalo game.

Linebacker Alex Tatsch returned to action against Temple in Week 2, but saw limited snaps. The sophomore should be closer to full-go on Saturday.

Lavar Arrington II had a “clean-up” surgery on his knee and will remain sidelined for the next three to five weeks.

Series History

The Nittany Lions hold a 3-1 all-time record against Buffalo. The blue and white have secured the last three matchups, with the most recent victory coming in 2019, when they won 45-13. Quarterback Sean Clifford threw for 279 yards and four touchdowns.

Buffalo’s lone dub came in 1900, when they defeated the Nittany Lions 10-0.

Penn State has outscored the Bulls 117-61 in the four matchups.
